The Obama admin intends to charge a "fee" (tax) of 15 cents per tree to fund an ad campaign which promotes Christmas trees.

Does it strike you as odd that an Admin which virtually banns the use of the C-word is happy to tax Christmas tree sales in order to employ some Madison Avenue libs? If not .... you could be a Liberal.

Elections matter.

Obama's administration has never banned the word Christmas.

But they should, because Christmas is a stupid holiday that has nothing to do with Jesus - not even falling on the same day - and became nothing more than a vapid marketing blitz. I hate every single thing about it. I hate the atmosphere, I hate the con artists begging for donations and ringing their stupid little bells, I hate the lying, sappy, hokey messages of peace and love that were coughed up by marketing tools and I hate, more than anything, that disgusting god-damn music. Christmas can burn in hell.

Christmas is nothing but a bunch of idiots wasting money because corporations tell them to. It has no religious meaning and its message of "love" and "family" and "generosity" is nothing but an insult - people should want to be that way all year round, not just FAKE IT for one day because a commercial said so.

Now, Halloween, there's a real holiday! No pretense, no obligations, no sappiness and no guilt-tripping people into spending their hard-earned money on unappreciated gifts, just good clean fun and candy and costumes to those who choose :D

And there's nothing wrong with spending. My point is that the spiritual aspects of Christmas are a flimsy ruse, and therefore it isn't important whether they're celebrated or not. It has nothing to do with a "Christ" to begin with so why this crazy "LIBERALS WANT TO TAKE CHRIST OUT OF CHRISTMAS" crap we hear every year? He SHOULD be taken out of Christmas. Does anyone who believes in Jesus really think he would care about people making a big wild celebration over his birth and lighting giant electric crosses on their rooftops?

Religion should be removed from Christmas because it was never religious. It is a secular celebration of consumerism :p

There is a separation of church and state. Government cannot intervene in the holiday or any holiday for that matter. Also I do think some people celebrate it religiously. Give me proof that 100% of the population do not celebrate it religiously and that they would all support a law taking the religious aspect out of all winter holidays (so christmas, Hanukkah, kwanza, etc.)

I'm just saying nobody should get offended when pop culture, the media or the government doesn't call it Christmas because you can call it Christmas in the privacy of your own home. None of the others you mention are so pervasive and paraded around as loudly, and that's good. Religious practices should have some humility and dignity.

I am just saying everyone should have the right to spread whatever holiday decorations they want. It's the holidays: make them fun.

I agree, I just think making it a political issue is silly
